GETTING INVOLVED

A covenant partner is anyone who commits himself or herself to give A PARTICULAR AMOUNT to the Lord for the execution of rural evangelism and missions. The amount you give is between you and the Lord. All you have to do is to make REO MINISTRIES the third party in that covenant. The first and second parties are the Lord and you respectively.

Make a prayerfully considered commitment of what you can give MONTHLY, QUARTERLY OR ANNUALLY to REO MINISTRIES in total dependence on God.

“Don’t give according to your income – lest God reduce your blessings to that level. Give according to your need and according to your faith. He that soweth sparingly shall reap sparingly; but he that soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully.”

We will NEVER remind you of the pledge you made to the Lord – except you specifically ask us to. IT IS BETWEEN YOU AND THE LORD. Just let us know the amount you are pledging BY FAITH (- not because you have it now -) – but because you are trusting God to provide it. Our duty is to help PRAY IT IN. Your part is to be faithful WHEN the Lord provides it.

If you sense within your heart that God wants you to live and work in a rural area as a Missionary; Church Planter; Pastor; Trainer (Bible School) or Community Developer, please complete and send your application details to us.

It is our desire to reach every part of the world with the gospel. Although our battle cry is, “A Church In Every Community”, we are also committed to dismantling the powers of darkness through prayer crusades and spiritual warfare campaigns.

You can facilitate or sponsor a special outreach to a rural area in your own part of the world. These outreaches can be in form of:

• Special Miracle-Deliverance Crusades
• Community Deliverance / Liberation Programs – where residents are helped to renounce idolatry/witchcraft and embrace Christ.
• Special Training Programs for all Rural Ministers in a geo-political zone (involving at least 200–300 rural ministers/Church workers).

An excellent way of getting involved in Rural Evangelism is to donate your skills and Time to the work. So many skills are needed in order to produce an effective outreach or Church planting in a village.

Needed Skills: Church Mobilisation • Fund-Raising • Volunteer Recruitment • Driving / Mechanic work • Building • Carpentry • Community Mobilisation • Website Management • Deliverance • Art (Graphics) • Intercession • Setting up Cooperatives in Rural Areas • Journalism / Reporting • Cooking • Writing / Proof-reading • Singing • Playing Musical Instruments • Children Ministry • Painting.

There are different kinds of Missionary Outreaches organized by REO MINISTRIES:

Moving vehicles or equipments from one part of the world to another can be very difficult because of the kind of terrain in rural areas! It is always our policy to try to borrow or use the best equipments available in an area. This will free our volunteers from having to carry so much when en-route to an outreach.

So if you can donate or permit us to use your vehicles or equipments WHEN WE ARE IN YOUR AREA, it will be of great assistance to us.

Alternatively, you may feel led to donate vehicles or equipments to us permanently for our own use. Kinds of vehicles include: cars; 4-wheel drive vehicles; motorcycles; bicycles; boats; etc. Needed equipments include film equipments; P.A. Systems; horn-speakers; generators; etc.

Rural Pastors or Church planters are volunteer missionaries that serve in their respective rural communities – without any pay. Usually they elect to depend on whatever their rural Churches are able to provide. Though the rural congregations often can donate sufficient food stuffs to the rural Pastor, there is hardly any monetary support.

You can seriously help make a difference by contributing monthly for the upkeep of a rural Pastor. With as little as ₦5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira) or $60.00 USD or a little more, it is possible to make a serious difference in the work of a rural worker across Africa.

Since Rural Pastors often work in very difficult conditions, they often face the challenge of training their children. One of the greatest ways of serving God is to take over the training or education of the children of Rural Pastors or Missionaries.

All you have to do is bring the Pastor’s child to live with you in the city and then ensure that the child is placed in a good school. You then help the child in schooling from elementary to secondary or even tertiary schools.

Alternatively, you can send the school fees of the child (ren) to their parents so that they can receive good education where they are. This way, you will free Rural pastors from being weighed down with the burden of giving qualitative education to their child(ren).

One of the greatest decisions you can make about rural missions is the decision to visit a mission field. Such a visit might change your life and perceptions forever. You will get to see the work exactly as it is, and experience part of what a rural missionary goes through everyday.

Such a visit helps the rural missionary realize just how much you really care. Your visit will strengthen that village missionary and re-fire his zeal to go on. Think of fixing your trip to occur on a weekend, holiday, or during your annual leave.

Another excellent way to get involved is to make out time to pray for rural evangelism. Remember your prayers always make a difference when they are real and God-centred. Too many believers nowadays focus all their prayers on self. You can be very different. Your prayers don’t have to be long or loud; they should just be real.

R.E.O MINISTRIES is constantly involved in ministering to rural people medically. We do not operate regular hospitals – rather, we send medical teams to various communities across the nations to bring God’s love and care to people who otherwise would NEVER receive such attention.

We have an on-going need for born-again, spirit-filled doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical laboratory scientists, and paramedical professionals willing to donate their skills freely. Once you sign up, we will contact you well in advance to schedule your involvement.

We have a critical need for determined labourers with a vision for rural areas and Africa.

There is an ongoing need for RURAL EVANGELISM MOBILISERS who elect to become mission activists in Churches. They go from Church to Church, fellowships, Home Prayer Groups, and Bible Study Groups – seeking to inform, educate, and recruit believers to get involved in rural evangelism.

They act as strong Advocates wherever they are, helping raise funds, talking to youth, and distributing literature. We will be glad to send speakers to your events and recommend book titles for your literature distribution work.

Adopting-A-Rural-Church means:

• You will regularly pray for that Church
• You will visit that Church at least 2–3 times per year
• You will recruit helpers/sympathizers for that rural Church in your city
• You will arrange with the Rural Pastor or Missionary to Minister from time to time
• Generally channel various kinds of help, assistance, prayers, funds, and visitation

Adopting-A-Rural Church does NOT mean taking over the Church or undermining the authority of the Missionary. We will link you up with verified rural churches.
